Released 1975 (Canada) Released in the U.S. in 1976
Heart’s debut album was released in Canada in 1975. While the album certainly made waves north of the border, it wasn’t until the band released the album in the United States in 1976 that Heart became a household name with their huge hit single “Magic Man.”

Little Queen
Released 1977
Hearts’s third album proved that the band was no fluke. After the success of the singles, “Magic Man,” and “Crazy On You,” from the debut album, Heart came roaring back with what was actually a third record entitled Little Queen. The album was fueled by a song that would become one of the biggest hits of their career and quite possibly their career defining song called “Barracuda.”

Heart
Released 1985
Heart began a career resurgence with their 1985 release. It was the first time the band went to outside songwriters. It proved to be highly successful for the group. However, at the same time, their sound changed completely and many of their old-time fans were pretty disappointed with what the band had done. Eventually, the group went back to their old style and sound an put away the big hair and glamor that their new record company had utilized in promoting this record on MTV.

Bad Animals
Released 1987
Hearts follow up to their smash 1985 release once again took outside writers on the inside. Led by the legendary Diane Warren who wrote the big hit Who Will You Run To and Tom Kelly and Billy Steinberg responsible for the song “Alone.” This was another hugely successful album for Heart as they continued their dominance of 1980s metal pop Rock via MTV.

Brigade
Released 1990
Brigade was the band’s third album to continue using the outside songwriters. Once again the group was widely successful, especially with the monster single “All I Wanna Do Is Make Love to You” written by Robert John “Mutt” Lange who was one of the most successful songwriters and producers of the 80s and 90s and the man behind all the big Shania Twain hits. Once again hit songwriter Diane Warren was brought in as well as Holly Knight, Billy Steinberg, Tom Kelly and even a contribution from the Red Rocker Sammy Hagar.
