Hair care routine: I'm making good resolutions in 2025 (2025)

Here we are, in 2025. The entire Hairborist team wishes you the best for this new year! And with a new year comes often good resolutions. Many of us turn to resolutions aimed at improving various aspects of our lives. Among these, taking care of our hair may seem trivial, but it actually influences their health and your overall well-being. A healthy hair routine can also enhance self-confidence. In this article, we will give you our top 5 resolutions to improve the appearance and health of your hair as well as your well-being.

I ban chemical hair products

If this is our first resolution, it’s because it’s the most important one. There are still too many of you using hair products from supermarkets, or with questionable compositions. It’s understandable; you may not be adequately informed about the dangers these products can pose. Moreover, these are the most accessible products and can be found everywhere. Some brands don’t hesitate to play on this and even make you believe that their products have healthy compositions, when in fact they do not. This is called greenwashing.
Be aware that hair products containing sulfates, silicones, parabens, or other chemical substances can harm your hair health in the long run. On the surface, they may seem to want to save and care for your hair, but in reality, the opposite occurs. They can make hair dry and brittle, irritate the scalp, or worse, disrupt the hormonal system. We are talking about endocrine disruptors.
If these products have been part of your hair routine for years, we invite you to be very cautious, as prolonged exposure to such products can pose health risks. In addition to potential itching and irritation, you can also develop diseases related to the substances contained in certain treatments.
Fortunately, there are natural solutions that effectively replace chemical products. We recommend rethinking your hair routine from A to Z by integrating a hair care range that is healthy, natural, and has a reliable composition. And since we know how difficult it can be to choose products amid greenwashing, you can trust the organic or ecological labels that some brands display. These are guarantees of quality and compliance with strict safety and environmental standards. Once again, don’t hesitate to thoroughly research before making a purchase.

I regularly cut my hair

Deciding to regularly cut your hair might seem counterproductive if your goal is to grow it out. Well, think again! By cutting your ends regularly and following a good hair care routine, your hair will be stronger and grow faster.
As your hair grows, the ends can become split and damaged. This can lead to breakage, resulting in uneven growth and dull-looking strands. By committing to trim your hair every 2 to 3 months, you eliminate the damaged ends, which helps not only to maintain a neat appearance but also to encourage healthy growth.
Furthermore, regular trims help prevent further damage by stopping splits from traveling higher up the hair shaft. This means you can keep your length while maintaining your hair’s health.
By frequently visiting the hairdresser, you can prevent certain hair issues that you might encounter without even realizing it. Indeed, by having regular treatments for your hair, the hairdresser will be able to notice any possible problems with your scalp. With each visit, they analyze your scalp, making them the best positioned to take on this preventive role.
In line with the previous resolution, we recommend visiting a plant-based hair salon where the hair products and treatments are natural and just as effective as others!

I embrace my natural hair

In a world where beauty standards are often associated with sleek hairstyles or artificial colors, choosing to embrace your natural hair is a liberating resolution! This approach goes beyond a simple trend; it represents self-acceptance and self-confidence.
Know this: every strand, every curl, every texture is unique. They reflect who you are, and there’s no need to transform them with chemical treatments. Whether your hair is straight, wavy, curly, or coily, your hair celebrates your identity. You can be proud of who you are because you choose to stay authentic.
By embracing your natural hair, you use fewer heat-styling tools that can harm your hair’s health. You also avoid exposure to chemical treatments like oxidative coloring or bleaching.
And if you really feel the need to change your hair color, you can always opt for plant-based dye. This type only allows for natural results. Colors like pink, blue, or purple are not possible with plant-based dye because the pigments needed to achieve these colors are chemical.
Plant-based dye is the best way to color your hair without transforming it. Conventional dye penetrates the hair shaft to color it, altering its internal structure and causing serious damage. In contrast, plant-based dye simply wraps around the hair to deposit its natural pigments without needing to open the hair cuticles.
It is the healthiest solution for those wanting to change their color while preserving their health and that of the planet!

I take time for myself

Taking time for yourself is essential not only for mental and emotional well-being but also for your overall health. In a society where daily pressure can be overwhelming, it is crucial to dedicate moments to yourself, and hair care can be a part of that. By integrating a hair care routine into your self-care practice, you promote not only the beauty of your hair but also create a relaxing experience that benefits your mind.
If you find it difficult to create this relaxation ritual at home, know that it is possible to experience it through a unique experience at a hair salon. We often tend to associate hairdressers with a service and an obligation. But in 2025, it is much more than that! The hair salon is now transforming into a true center for hair wellness.
Hairborist is a whole concept that revolves around the hairdressing service. Well-being and mental health are at the heart of our concerns. This is why we enable our partner hairdressers to offer a unique treatment in the salon—the oil bath before shampooing. This step makes all the difference and transforms a simple hair appointment into a unique wellness experience.
Our oil treatment combines vegetable oils and essential oils for a personalized treatment that addresses various hair issues while providing relaxation. With the careful movements of your hairdresser, you will enjoy a scalp massage that gives you an optimal sense of well-being while benefiting from a deep and effective treatment for your hair. It’s the ideal combo, isn’t it?

I integrate more cares into my hair care routine

By taking more time for yourself, you can adopt a simple gesture that makes a difference: using a complete hair beauty routine with different products for different needs. Each treatment plays an important role in the hair routine, and the most crucial one starts even before shampooing.

At Hairborist, here is the routine we recommend for healthy hair all year round:

  • The Pre-Shampoo Oil Bath you have heard about earlier. In addition to the wellness moment in the salon, you can recreate this step at home by letting the oils sit for a few minutes before your shower. Whether you have dry, oily, sensitive hair, or dandruff, the oil bath will be your savior!
  • Gentle Organic Shampoo: Our certified organic shampoos have a specific purpose: to cleanse the hair and remove impurities. They don’t save the hair like the oil treatment does, but they do gently cleanse while adapting to your hair type.
  • The Mask: It should always be applied right after shampooing to gain the most benefits. We have two masks: one repairs the hair, and the other regulates excess sebum and helps with the plant-based transition. It’s up to you to choose; the mask has a profound effect and definitely has its place in a hair care routine!
  • The Conditioner: The final step in the hair routine, it is essential for closing the cuticles that were opened during shampoo. It is the finishing touch for a complete care ritual; it moisturizes and detangles gently.
